66. Volunteer Responsibilities:
    As a volunteer, I understand the following items are expected of me: 1)Maintain the integrity and professionalism of the Des Peres Parks and Recreation Department, especially when interacting with the park users, visitors and the general public. 2)Be punctual and notify the volunteer coordinator of absences. 3)Take breaks when needed, keep hydrated, wear sunscreen and dress appropriately for the weather. 4)Comply with training, dress code, attendance and safety requirements. 5)Accept the guidance and direction of your supervisor or parks staff. 6)Ask questions when further clarification or direction is needed.
68. Volunteer Acknowledgement
    As a volunteer, I understand that: 1)I will not receive any compensation as a parks volunteer and volunteers are not considered city or parks employees. 2)Volunteer service is not creditable for leave accrual or any other employee benefits. 3) Either the Des Peres Parks and Recreation Department or I may cancel this agreement at any time by notifying the other party. 4) All publications, films, slides, videos, artistic or similar endeavors, resulting from my volunteer services as a parks volunteer will become the property of Des Peres Parks and Recreation Department, and as such, will be in the public domain and not subject to copyright laws. 5)I understand that I will be required to wear the volunteer uniform while on duty and on City of Des Peres property. 6)I release the City of Des Peres and individuals from liability in case of accident during activities related to volunteering with Des Peres Parks and Recreation Department as long as normal safety procedures have been taken.
70. City of Des Peres Waiver
    WAIVER OF RELEASE AND LIABILITY The Des Peres Parks and Recreation Department is not responsible for any injury or loss of property suffered while participating in Des Peres Parks and Recreation activities, using equipment, or on any Des Peres Parks and Recreation premises, for any reason whatsoever, including ordinary negligence on the part of Des Peres Parks and Recreation, its employees, instructors, or agents, from any and all present and future claims resulting from participation in activities both present and future, that may be made by the registrant, the registrant's family, estate, heirs, or assigns. By participating, you agree to having your picture or likeness represented and published in any City of Des Peres publication or media. By participating, you represent that you are in good health. You are aware that health, fitness, and recreation activities may range from vigorous cardiovascular activity to the exertion of strength training; and that these, and other activities provided by Des Peres Parks and Recreation involve certain risks, including but not limited to death, disability, serious neck and spinal injuries resulting in complete paralysis, heart attack, and injury to bones, joints or muscles. By participating, you and your family are agreeing to voluntarily participate in activities with full knowledge of the inherent risks of property damage, personal injury, or death. You understand that Des Peres Parks and Recreation encourages you to consult a physician before beginning any exercise or recreation program. You understand and agree to this waiver to be as broad and inclusive as the laws of the State of Missouri will permit and affirm that you freely agree to the rules and regulations of the Des Peres Parks and Recreation Department.
