Police Officer/Public Safety Officer 

The Des Peres Department of Public Safety providing Police, Fire and EMS services to a community of 9,000 is currently accepting applications for the position of Police Officer/Public Safety Officer. Starting salary is $50,600 to $58,141 depending on qualifications and experience including excellent fringe benefit package.  Successful applicant will be cross-trained as a Firefighter and Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), and will be primarily assigned to police operations at West County Center until fully trained. Applicants must be at least 21 years of age and meet all statutory requirements for certification as a police officer in St. Louis County.  Prior experience as police officer not required but preferred.  EMT license and Firefighter experience preferred but not mandatory at time of application. Selection process to include pre-applicant screening, written examination, oral interview, psychological exam, interview with Director of Public Safety, and pre-employment physical including full drug screen.
