Mission: To effectively teach infants, children, and adults how to swim in a safe and fun environment.  Starting Blocks is a swimming lesson program built especially for The Lodge. It is comprised of one parent and child level, one preschool level, six youth levels, and an adult level of instruction. The curriculum is based on a progressive approach, modeled after the American Red Cross Learn to Swim program. Classes are for all ages and abilities. Our goal is to provide a quality program where participants can continually build on skills and technique to become lifelong swimmers.  Use the Starting Blocks flow chart to determine which class is the best fit for you or your child. For questions regarding enrollment, age restrictions and other swim lesson information, please contact Aquatic Supervisor Amy Springman at 314.835.6162 or by email

Starting Block instructors are well trained and knowledgeable in the area of swimming. All instructors have prior experience and are passionate about water safety and teaching participants of all ages the importance of swimming skills and techniques.

Please note: Fees are calculated per session and will not be pro-rated. Make-up classes/course credits for missed classes are not offered for Group Swim Lessons.
