Martial Arts


The Martial Arts program has a foundation of Tae Kwon Do, with advance students also practicing Judo and Aikido.  Class includes mental and physical strengthening, stretching, forms, timing exercises, target training, board breaking, tumbling, sparring, self-defense and throwing.  Students learn respect, self-confidence, discipline, perseverance, concentration, agility, self-control and indomitable spirit.  It is an excellent cardiovascular workout and appropriate for all ages.  Martial Arts classes are available for men, women, and children ages 6 and up – no annual contract required!  A uniform is required and available from the instructor (approximately $45).  Prior to purchasing a uniform, please wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothing.  Minimum 10/Maximum 15


All participants and coaches will be required to wear a mask upon entering City Hall.  Once participants are inside City Studio they may remove their masks.  Instructors will follow all St. Louis County guidelines for Martial Arts.  All participants should have their temperature checked at home prior to coming to class.  All equipment that will be used will be cleaned/sanitized before and after use.  Spectators will not be allowed inside City Studio.

New COVID-19 Procedures

All participants will be screened for COVID-19 symptoms and temperature checked outside the building before each class. Participants will have their own 6' x 6' area to practice in with areas clearly marked on the floor. Equipment will be disinfected before and after class (equipment will not be shared).  Class instruction will be adapted to conform with current St. Louis County Health Department guidelines. Only the registered participant will be allowed in the facility for this program.
