Director of Public Safety, (Chief) Eric J. Hall
Chief Hall has been employed with the City of Des Peres since 1997. Chief Hall has served the department as a Public Safety Officer, Corporal, Lieutenant – Shift Commander, and Lieutenant – Support Service Commander. As Support Services Commander Chief Hall was responsible for the department achieving agency certification through the Missouri Police Chief’s Association Certification Program. In October 2015, Chief Hall was promoted to Captain – Commander of Fire & EMS Services.
Chief Hall has a Master of Science Degree in Management from Lindenwood University, and is graduate of the Executive Fire Officer Program through the National Fire Academy, and designated as a Chief Fire Officer through the Center for Public Safety Excellence. In 2016, Chief Hall was accepted from a pool of nationwide applicants to attend the Fire Service Executive Development Institute. This was a national leadership program sponsored by the International Association of Fire Chiefs through a grant from the Motorola Solutions Foundation.
Chief Hall served on the St. Louis County Emergency Communication Commission (ECC) Request for Proposal/Technical Committee in the design and implementation of the new county wide digital radio system. In addition, Chief Hall served as Chair Person of the Fire Service User Group and a member of the Police User Group.

On October 09, 2018, Chief Hall was promoted to Director of Public Safety (Chief) of the Des Peres department of Public Safety.
Police Operations Commander, (Captain) Vicki Severs
Captain Vicki Severs has been employed with the City of Des Peres since August of 2002. Captain Severs started her Law Enforcement career in 1996 and previously served as a Corporal and Field Training Officer. With Des Peres, Captain Severs has served the department as a Public Safety Officer, Community Services Officer, DARE instructor, Sergeant, Lieutenant-Shift Commander, and Lieutenant-Support Services where she was responsible for the administration of the department’s accreditation program through the Commission on Law Enforcement Accreditation International (CALEA).
Captain Severs earned a Master of Arts in Human Resource Management in 2013 from Lindenwood University. Captain Severs has attended the National Fire Academy in Emmittsburg, Maryland and is a member of the Law Enforcement Officials Association and Missouri Law Enforcement Accreditation Coalition (MOLEAC).
As Police Commander, Captain Services will be responsible for the day to day administrative and operations of the departments police services including patrol, Detective Bureau, and West County Center Detail. “I am grateful and honored to be selected as the department’s Police Commander. I will strive to always serve our residents and citizens with the utmost professionalism. We employ a dedicated group of professional police, fire and EMS officers and are committed to community policing and strive to make Des Peres a safe place to live and visit”.
Fire & EMS Commander, (Captain) Dale Fiala
Captain Fiala has been employed with the City of Des Peres since July of 2002. Prior to his employment with the City of Des Peres, he was employed with the City of Sunset Hills for 15 years, serving as a Patrolman, Field Training Officer and Sergeant. Captain Fiala has served the City of Des Peres as a Public Safety Officer, Sergeant, Lieutenant – Shift Commander, and Detective Lieutenant. Captain Fiala was promoted to his current position in December 2018.
Captain Fiala attended Lindenwood University on an athletic scholarship and graduated with a B.A. Degree in Psychology. Captain Fiala has attended the National Fire Academy in Emmittsburg, Maryland, obtaining certifications in Fire Inspection Principles, Fire Cause & Arson Investigations, Forensic Evidence, and Electrical Fire Investigations.
Captain Fiala has been a member of the St. Louis Area Major Case Squad and the St. Louis, Missouri Financial Fraud Investigators Group. Captain Fiala is currently a member of the Missouri Fire Marshalls Association, Tri County Training Consortium and Law Enforcement Officials Association.
